“I am a board-certified nephrologist with a diverse background in clinical care, leadership, and innovation. After earning my medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical University in Pakistan, I completed an Internal Medicine residency at Easton Hospital in Pennsylvania and a Nephrology fellowship at Wayne State University in Michigan. I also hold an Executive MBA from Bowling Green State University.

Currently, I serve on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors at The Toledo Clinic, Inc., and as Medical Director at DaVita Regional Dialysis Center in Fremont, Ohio, and USRC Dialysis Center in Bowling Green, Ohio. I also lead a vascular access center dedicated to comprehensive care for dialysis patients.

My clinical interests include glomerular diseases, chronic kidney disease, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, and end-stage kidney disease. I am passionate about delivering patient-centered care and supporting individuals through complex health challenges.

In recent years, I have focused on integrating artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and personalized medicine into nephrology to enhance diagnostics, improve outcomes, and transform kidney care. I believe the future of nephrology lies in combining clinical expertise with innovative, data-driven approaches to deliver personalized, high-quality care.”

I am a lifelong Ohioan, born into a family of eight children in Cincinnati, Ohio. After high school, I chose to stay close to home and attended the University of Cincinnati for all of my undergraduate, medical, and postgraduate studies. Upon the completion of my fellowship in Nephrology in 2009, I made the move to Northwest Ohio to join Lake Erie Nephrology and Hypertension Associates, and I have been working with the same group of excellent doctors ever since. My clinical interests include electrolyte disorders, resistant hypertension, and the prevention and management of chronic kidney disease. I also enjoy helping patients that are not interested in dialysis find alternative ways to lead healthy and productive lives, whether through kidney transplantation or lifestyle modifications and medical management when appropriate.

I attended school to become a family nurse practitioner because since becoming a nurse, I knew I wanted to take my education further and hold a higher role in caring for patients. A family member close to my heart struggled with kidney disease and ended up requiring a kidney transplant, which was what initially drew me to practice nephrology. I have since fallen in love with my role as a nephrology NP, and I deeply value the relationships and rapport I have built with my patients. My primary focus in the practice is to help patients feel as safe and comfortable as possible while managing their kidney disease, whether it be inpatient acute care, outpatient office follow up, or the dialysis setting.
